One of three watercolours that form a panorama showing Allied forces in action at the Battle of the Alma during the Crimean War (1854-1856).
British Foot Guards assaulting Russian positions on high ground.
Joseph Archer Crowe was a special artist for the 'Illustrated London News' and sketched these drawings while in the Crimea.
