Sergeant's sword, 41st (The Welsh) Regiment of Foot, 1850 (c)

Manufactured by Firmin and Sons, London, 1850 (c).

Engraved decoration on the blade includes the Prince of Wales' feathers and motto; brass knucklebow inset with Regimental badge; lion's head pommel and backpiece; wooden grip bound with fish skin and brass wire.

The 41st (The Welsh) Regiment of Foot served in the 1st Afghan War (1838-1842) and the Crimean War (1854-1856).
