Cossack lance, 1854 (c)
Double edged steel head with high central rib, concave fullers. Council socket affixed to the shaft with a thong binding. Black timbered wood shaft with leather loop. Metal foot missing. The lance is over three metres long.
The iron socket, was affixed on the shaft at a certain distance from the point so that the pierced enemy would not slide on the lance up to the Cossack himself, because often the enemy could keep on fighting for a few moments even after being mortally wounded.
