Shoulder title, other ranks, 17th/21st Lancers, 1930 (c)
Brass pierced numerals and letter, '17/21L', with a split pin fitting.
This pattern shoulder title was introduced in 1922 when a number of cavalry regiments were amalgamated, in some cases resulting in regimental titles which combined the numbers of the component regiments.
This title was worn on the shoulder straps of service dress in temperate climate, or could also have been worn on khaki drill uniform when serving overseas.
