In September 1942, 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) were put under the command of General Headquarters, British Troops in Egypt. The unit spent the early months of 1943 undergoing training, prior to its invovement in Operation HUSKY, the Allied invasion of Sicily.
