Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps nurse, 1975 (c)

The Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC) was formed in 1902 as Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service (QAIMNS). It was formed as the unit for female Army nurses to serve in. In 1949 it's name changed to QARANC and in 1992, men were accepted into the Corps.
