Troops arriving back at Newhaven after the Dieppe Raid, 19 August 1942

Commandos march past a collapsed 'Goatley' boat, which was used in raids to transfer from motorboats to the shore. Made of wood and canvas, the vessel could carry ten men but only weighed about 150 kilograms (330 lb).
