Replica pressure release switch Improvised Explosive Device (IED), 2013

This is an example of a pressure release switch IED, commonly used by insurgents during the Afghanistan campaign (2001-) to target IED Disposal Operators disarming devices manually. Attractive objects are usually placed on top of the switch to persuade individuals to move the object and cause the device to function.
