The British-run Operational Mentor and Liaison Team (OMLT) provided training and mentoring to the Afghan National Army (ANA). They also provided a liaison capability between the ANA and coalition forces, co-ordinating the planning of operations and ensuring that the ANA units receive the necessary air and medical support.
