A Mobile Observation Team near Sultan Baba Ali Sher, Spring 2006.
At this time Mobile Observation Teams of eight to ten men in two-vehicle mobile units were used to perform a variety of roles, including gathering intelligence, tracking insurgents and mapping opium poppy fields in the mountains. The vehicle is driving on a riverbed through an ancient brick arch, believed to have been enlarged by the Russians in the 1980s.
