Vehicle search, Helmand, 2006
Digital photograph by Corporal Mike Fletcher, Royal Logistic Corps, Helmand Task Force Photographer, 2006.
A British Army dog handler explains to a member of the Afghan National Police using internationally understood hand signals that he wishes to carry out a boot and bonnet search of a vehicle with his Arms and Explosives Search (AES) dog Sadie.
AES dogs operating in Helmand were from the Royal Army Veterinary Corps (RAVC) and proved themselves vital assets in the search for illegal arms and explosives.
From a collection of images taken during Operation HERRICK IV, the UK's deployment into Helmand Province, Southern Afghanistan.
