Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) radio communication system, 2013 (c)

ECM equipment is carried by the ECM Operator or 'Bleep' during Improvised Explosive Device (IED) disposal operations and patrols in Afghanistan (2001-). The device is used to block electromagnetic frequencies that could be used by insurgents to detonate IEDs remotely. The team cannot leave on a patrol unless all their ECM devices are working correctly.
