This cartoon was published in 'The Daily Telegraph' on 27 October 2014. It shows a medal parade for soldiers returning from Afghanistan (2001-2014). But instead of medals, the elderly senior officer is pinning P45s to the chests of the veterans.

This cartoon mocks the Army's restructuring that saw widespread redundancies, even for those who had only just returned from active service in Afghanistan.
