This image was taken in 2006 during Operation HERRICK, the UK's deployment into Helmand Province in Southern Afghanistan. The Helmand Task Force was made up of 3,300 troops from the British Military, with the majority serving with 16 Air Assault Brigade. Lashkar Gah was the provincial capital and the site of the Main Operating Base of the British forces in Helmand Province.
