Unit support wristband, 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, 2012 (c)

Operation HERRICK was the codename for British operations in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2014. UK forces, as part of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), were part of a wider coalition of countries that formed the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

The 2nd Battalion, The Rifles participated in Operation HERRICK X, (2009); HERRICK XV (2011-2012) and HERRICK XX (2014) with each constituting an approximately 6 month long tour of duty in Afghanistan. 'Swift and Bold' is the motto of The Rifles.
