'Outside Balkh Northern Afghanistan', 2006

A Mobile Observation Team and the Afghan National Police, Balkh, North Afghanistan, March 2006.

This 'white fleet' Mobile Observation Team was sent out to talk to the local chief of the Afghan National Police at a roadblock on the trade route outside the ancient city of Balkh. This particular eight-man team, 'MOT Romeo', had been ambushed a few months earlier, one was killed and four were wounded.
