Model soldier box, The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment), 1930 (c)-1939 (c)

Manufactured by William Britain Limited, London, British Soldiers series, Box Set No 76, 1930 (c)-1939 (c).

Box for a set of nine infantrymen and an officer. The box lid lists a number of battle honours of the Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) including those received for the Peninsular War (1808-1814), Crimean War (1854-1856) and the Boer War (1899-1902).

William Britain began producing toy soldiers and military miniatures in 1893 and soon gained a reputation for making the most finely detailed and historically accurate figures available. The company continue to manufacture them today.
