Letter from Private Richard Sheafe Smith, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment), to his parents, 1809 (c)

Sent from Portugal, where Smith was serving in the Peninsular War (1808-1814), the letter is censored and countersigned by Lieutenant-Colonel William Stewart. It primarily discusses family, the weather, the French and the likelihood of military action.
