Letter from Lieutenant William Pritchard, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards, to his wife Mary, 12 July 1815
Sent from Paris, the letter recounts the Waterloo campaign on 17 to 18 June 1815. It including heavy fighting against the French, having to lay down in torrential rain due to exhaustion, taking part in charges and retreats, as well as receiving support from a small party of German legionaries. His account also describes the Prussian forces and the capture of 200 cannon.
