Letter from 'Verner' (probably Captain William Verner) to the 1st Viscount Guillamore, 22 June 1815
Verner writes from Brussels to reassure the viscount that his son Lieutenant Standish O'Grady is safe and well, presumably following the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June. Verner reveals he is in Brussels due to a wound received and that Standish may not yet have had a chance to write to his father.
From a collection of 45 letters associated with Lieutenant-Colonel Standish O'Grady, later 2nd Viscount Guillamore 1813-1830. These include those written whilst serving as a lieutenant with the 7th Light Dragoons in the Peninsular War (1808-1814) and at Waterloo (1815).
