Transcription of journal written by Edward Healey, May-July 1815

The author was the 14-year-old son of General Sir George Scovell's head groom. He accompanied the latter to Belgium from Canterbury on 20 May 1815 and was in Brussels from 4-20 June when they left for Paris. He gives a vivid description of the scenes in the town during and after the Battle of Waterloo (1815). Healey visited the battlefield on the way to Paris and the narrative ends early in July 1815.
