Letter from Captain George Percival to his aunt, Mrs Charles Drummond, 13 October 1811
In this letter, sent from Fonte d'Acadia in the Peninsula, Percival has little to report. He has been unwell for several days with an unidentified malady, but relates that part of the French Army under Marshal Marmont is at Placencia, with another part at Salamanca. He also reports that Wellington has frequently been riding to inspect Allied field hospitals as they are not operating to his liking.
From a collection of 23 letters 1810-1814, written by Captain George Harvey Percival, Coldstream Guards.
