As Military Auditor General for Bengal Imlach (1760-1830) was entitled to wear the uniform of a lieutenant-general, as in this painting. He held the position of Military Auditor General from 1811 until his death in 1830. He was unmarried, but had a daughter by an Indian woman called Bebee Sakeenah Khanum.
