'Secure arms', infantry drill, India, 1814

Etching by Sawyer and Son, 1814, after Captain James Abraham, 67th Regiment of Foot, 1813 (c). From the volume, 'The Military Costume of India in an Exemplification of the Manual and Platoon Exercises for the use of the Native Troops and the British Army in General'.

Three studies of a sepoy, an Indian soldier, undertaking three motions of a 'secure arms' drill command, where the musket is turned upside down and placed under the left arm.
