Kukri, Captain P A Tubbs, Royal Indian Service Corps, 1942 (c)

Custom made kukri with single fuller and a wooden grip.

Captain Tubbs served in Burma with the 59 (Rajputana) General Purpose Transport Company during the retreat from Rangoon to Imphal in 1942. He was also the officer commanding the 45 Indian Motor Ambulance Section (Sikhs) in the Arakan coastal campaigns of 1943-1945. Although it was never used in battle the kukri was often used to clear scrub for camp sites or vehicle camouflage.
