Side drum used by the 42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment of Foot, 1815 (c)

The 42nd served in both Egypt and Spain during the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815) and was one of only four regiments mentioned in despatches for its service at both Quatre Bras and Waterloo (1815).
