Double barrelled Jacob's .73 inch smoothbore percussion carbine, 1860
Manufactured by Swinburn and Son, 1860 (c).
This weapon was issued to the Scinde Irregular Horse after the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859). The Scinde Irregular Horse was commanded by John Jacob, the designer of the weapon, which includes a trigger-guard with a Baker style spur. In 1858 he raised the 1st Regiment of Jacob's Rifles.
