Royal Artillery gunners load at 25-pounder Field Gun. The latter weapon had entered British service in 1938 and remained in use until 1967. It was largely replaced with the 105 mm field gun following standardisation initiatives implemented by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).
