'Why Stay in England all your Life? See the World by joining the Army', 1920 (c)
Recruitment poster, 1920 (c).
This recruitment poster depicts a British cavalry soldier next to a temple in Egypt. In times of peace it was difficult to recruit men into the Army on ideological grounds and rare to find those motivated simply by the desire to serve King and country. This poster therefore focuses on the travel opportunities available in the Army but also adds that, 'The Pay is Good'.
