A Captain of the 13th Bengal Native Infantry, 1840 (c)

Originally raised in 1794 at Mooshedabad by Captain Thomas Goddard, in 1840 the 13th Bengal Native Infantry were stationed at Banda (in Urrar Pradesh, India). In 1857 this regiment mutinied at Lucknow and in 1861 its title was given to the Shekhawati Battalion which became 13th (Shekhawati Regiment) Bengal Native Infantry.
