The front and lid are impressed with the unit abbreviation, '2nd DGS', for the 2nd (or Royal North British) Dragoons. The back is impressed with the maker's name. The lid that fits over the bowl and has a single handle is impressed with the maker's mark and the same unit abbreviation.
