Pamphlet from a survival kit issued to British soldiers, 1945 (c)
This pamphlet possibly relates to the British Deployment in French Indochina (Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) after World War Two (1939-1945). It bears the Union flag and Royal Arms at the top and is inscribed in five languages, English, Laotian, Annamite, Chinese and Cambodian. It reads: 'I Am a British Serviceman and a member of the United Nations, fighting for your country and the peace of the world, I need your assistance, please help me to return to the nearest Allied Unit. For this brave deed you will be rewarded by my Government Headquarters. United Nations Command.'
