'Capture of General Paget, 1812'
Coloured lithograph by Dubourg after J Atkinson. From 'Historic, Military and Naval anecdotes, of personal valour, bravery and particular incidents which occurred to the armies of Great Britain, 1803-15, and her allies, in the last long-contested war terminating with the Battle of Waterloo', published by Edward Orme, 1819.
On 17 November 1812, during the retreat from Burgos, General Sir Edward Paget (1775-1849) was attempting to close up a gap between the 5th and 7th Divisions when he was surprised by a party of French dragoons. They captured him and his Spanish orderly.
