Socket bayonet with sword blade and knuckleguard used by East India Company light infantry, 1820
Made by Osborn as a pattern sent to Ezekil Baker, the Company contractor, this bayonet is an important specimen. It is a type that is normally associated with Indian sappers and miners but this example was intended for a light infantry weapon.
