Muleshoe, 1914 (c)

The studs in the heel of this mule shoe are called cogs and act like the studs in football boots to give extra grip on soft, wet ground. Mules have smaller feet than horses and are very nimble. They are the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. Strong for their size and very hardy, mules are also less fussy than horses about what they eat.
