Peter Squirrel was a Captain of the 2nd County of London Yeomanry (Westminster Dragoons) who had fought their way through Normandy and North West Europe. They were equipped with Sherman Flail tanks, which were designed to clear mined areas. By the time the regiment reached Germany the tanks were being used primarily as gun tanks. Peter Squirrel wears battledress typical of the period and wears the distinctive cap badge of the Westminster Dragoons.
