Russian chair taken at Sevastopol during the Crimean War (1854-1856) by men of the 88th Regiment of Foot (Connaught Rangers)
The chair, a piece of travelling furniture which can be dismantled (without the need for tools) by removal of the bosses holding it together, was later part of the Officer's Mess furniture of the 88th Regiment of Foot.
