M20 Mk II 3.5 inch rocket launcher, 'Super Bazooka', 1953

Developed from the earlier 2.75 inch rocket launcher, this anti-tank weapon was also known as the Super Bazooka because of its improved performance. It was capable of defeating the armour of the Russian T-34 tank used in Korea. In the early phases of the Korean War (1950-1953) the British used American bazookas but this model was manufactured in Britain. Once the Chinese Army had become involved in the war the bazooka was used more as an artillery weapon against human wave attacks than the role for which it was originally designed.
