Extract from Brigadier-General Robert Anstruther's journal in Spain and Portugal, 1808

During the Peninsular War (1808-1814) Anstruther served at the Battle of Vimeiro in August 1808 and with Sir John Moore at Corunna in January 1809. He died of fatigue and exhaustion during the latter campaign.
