Parole card for Lieutenant John Colbourne, Pforzheim, 1918
Parole cards were still issued to officers during World War One (1914-1918). This card allowed Lieutenant Colbourne to exit the camp and go for a walk in the nearby forest. Pforzheim camp in south-western Germany held officers from several different Allied armies.
From a collection of material relating to Lieutenant John Silvester Colbourne, Royal Warwickshire Regiment, 1917 until 1920. Most concern Colbourne's period as a prisoner of war in Germany in 1918.
