Typescript memoir entitled 'I was a WAAC', by Forewoman Lia Parfitt, Women's Army Auxiliary Corps
Lia Parfit was Argentinian and her memoirs begin with her family background. They go on to discuss recruitment, her medical, the issue of uniform, her initial tasks, training at Aldershot, working as a translator in the orderly room, army meals, sports days and drilling. They also mentions the Spanish flu epidemic, the corps' change of name to Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps and a review by Queen Mary.
