1937 pattern brace attachment
This strap was worn over the shoulder as part of a soldier's load-carrying equipment called webbing.
Webbing distributed weight around the body. When assembled in one piece it could easily be taken on and off. 1937 pattern webbing was developed to have changeable parts to suit different needs. It was standard issue for British and Commonwealth forces from 1937 until the mid-1950s.
This brace attachment is associated with Sergeant Stan Scott, who served with No 3 Army Commandos during World War Two (1939-1945).
