Uganda Star 1897-98, Chief Abdalla Effendi
Silver seven-pointed surmounted by a crown with, on the obverse, the head of Queen Victoria within a circlet bearing the dates, '1897' and; '1898'.
The Uganda Star was awarded for service during a mutiny amongst largely Sudanese colonial forces serving in the British Uganda Protectorate. The medal was presented to Ugandan tribal leaders as well as Sudanese troops who remained loyal.
