Australian pattern 1907 bayonet, Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment), 1914
Made by the Lithgow Small Arms Factory, Australia, 1914. Issue marks to the Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment).
During World War One (1914-1918), Australian and British troops were largely issued with the same equipment. This bayonet was manufactured in Australia, but issued to a soldier in a British regiment. Australian and British personnel served together in Gallipoli, Egypt, Palestine and on the Western Front.
