Pair of Butcher boots, 1944 (c)

These leather boots were worn by Colonel F E 'Rex' Callender of the Corps of Royal Engineers who was Deputy Chief Engineer (Air), Eastern Command, in 1943. Butcher boots were traditionally for hunting but were adopted by cavalry officers and other soldiers.
