Gold brooch, marked verso '15ct', in the form of a unit monogram.

The 20th Deccan Horse, part of the 2nd Indian Cavalry Division, served on the Western Front for most of the First World War (1914-1918).

Small, jewelled representations of regimental and unit badges of this type were given by serving officers to their wives and girlfriends.
