Lieutenant Colonel Claude Worthington, 2nd Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment), 1914 (c)

Lieutenant Colonel Claude Arthur Worthington (1874-1915) was killed in action, aged 41, at the Battle of Loos, on 28 September 1915. Worthington, a veteran of the Boer War (1899-1902) was killed while leading the 2nd Battalion on an unsuccessful attack on the 'Fosse 8' position.
