Predden flintlock musket, 1715 (c)
Made by W Predden of London.
This musket, with its 115 cm barrel, was the predecessor of the long land pattern musket or 'Brown Bess'. Although it looks to be a dangerous weapon, it was still very inaccurate. A soldier might be able to fire two rounds a minute with such a musket, but he would be very lucky to hit an enemy at over 50 metres.
