Letter from Captain William Maynard Gomm, 9th Regiment to his sister Sophia, 1 September 1808

Written at Camp Sobral de Monta Graco, he writes that the success at the Battle of Vimeiro on 21 August 1808 could have been more decisive and hints at his suspicions that the Convention of Cintra was lenient.
