This watercolour shows a number of new recruits lined up and shouldering their rifles, one of the men is facing in the opposite direction to the others. In the background can be seen some tents.

Eric Dawson served in North Africa, Syria, Palestine and the Lebanon between 1940-1945 with 2nd Battalion, The Rifle Brigade, the Royal Engineers and the Army Educational Corps.
